Terms of Engagement
Last updated 4 October 2026
Property Valuations Australia is a trading name of Valuation Group Pty Ltd (ABN 48 702 469 252), referred to here as “we” or “us”.
These terms apply when you order a valuation online or accept a quote from us. Your confirmation email and any quote form part of the engagement.
1. The service
We will provide an independent valuation of the property you describe, for the purpose and at the valuation date you state, prepared and signed by a qualified property valuer (registered or licensed where the relevant state requires it). The report may be relied on only for that purpose, at that date, by the client named in it and anyone we agree to in writing.
2. Fees and payment
Fees are shown including GST. Fixed-fee valuations are paid when you order, or on receipt of a secure payment link; work starts once payment is received. Quoted work is fixed when you accept the quote. Add-ons are only included if you choose them.
3. Information and access
You agree to give accurate information about the property and its purpose and to arrange reasonable access for the inspection. If the property turns out to be materially different from what you told us (for example, a prestige, heritage-listed or multi-dwelling property ordered as a standard home), we will tell you before the inspection and you may accept a revised fee or cancel for a full refund.
4. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel before the inspection for a full refund. After the inspection we may keep a fair amount for the work done and refund the balance. If we cannot accept the engagement, for example because of a conflict of interest, we refund you in full.
5. Turnaround
Turnaround times are targets measured in business days from the inspection (or from engagement for desktop assessments). They depend on access, the information provided and the complexity of the property.
6. What a valuation is and is not
- A valuation is an opinion of value at the valuation date. Values change over time.
- Unless agreed in writing, a valuation is not prepared for mortgage lending, and most lenders will not rely on it.
- A valuation is not a building, pest, structural, environmental or legal title report. The report states the assumptions it makes.
- Expert witness work, conferences, supplementary reports and court attendance are quoted and engaged separately.
7. Your rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
8. General
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria. Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal information, and our complaints process explains how to raise a concern.
